Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."


Reiki is not religious. There is no dogma involved with Reiki.

It is the ability to heal physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual imbalances with energy channeled through the hands.This ability can be acquired by energetic transmission from one person to another. These transmissions are called attunements or empowerment or sometimes initiations. They remove blocks in the aura and allow the healing energies that surround us to come in through our crown chakra and flow through our bodies and out our hands to where they are needed.
